AAST Is Moving Its National Office After Securing New Management

CHICAGO – June 27, 2024 – On Aug. 1, the national office of AAST will move from Chicago to nearby Darien, Illinois, as part of a new management services agreement between AAST and the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.

“AAST has a longstanding and collaborative relationship with the AASM, and our members will benefit greatly from the management services and organizational support that the AASM will provide,” said AAST President Emerson Kerr. “This move is an exciting transition for AAST, and it will strengthen our efforts to meet the professional and educational needs of our members.”

The AASM previously managed AAST from 2004 to 2017. The AASM also provides management services for the AASM Foundation, American Board of Sleep Medicine, Sleep Research Society, SRS Foundation and Associated Professional Sleep Societies. The APSS has agreed to allow AAST to host its annual meeting in conjunction with SLEEP 2025, the 39th annual meeting of the APSS, next June in Seattle.

AAST also has representatives on the AASM Sleep Technologist and Respiratory Therapist Education Committee and the AASM Sleep Technologist Shortage Presidential Committee. Together, the two organizations will continue to implement strategies to advance the profession of sleep technology and ensure that patients who have sleep disorders receive the highest quality of care.

Effective Aug. 1, the address for the AAST national office will be:
