The American Association of Sleep Technologists (AAST) is pleased to announce Thomas “Massey” Arrington, RPSGT, RST, CCSH, CPXP, as its new president. A transformational healthcare executive with more than 30 years of experience, Massey brings a strong record of leadership, innovation, and operational excellence to the role as he begins guiding the organization’s next chapter.
Massey currently serves as assistant vice president of pulmonary, respiratory, sleep, and critical care services for Wellstar Health System, where he oversees a broad portfolio of multi-site clinical operations across 11 hospitals. His leadership responsibilities include sleep medicine, critical care, ECMO, respiratory care, and interventional pulmonology. Throughout his career, he has been recognized for building and scaling high-performing clinical programs through physician partnership, multidisciplinary collaboration, and innovative care models.
Known for his systems-based approach to leadership, Massey has advanced initiatives that expand access to care, improve patient experience, and align clinical, operational, and financial strategies. His experience leading enterprise growth and redesigning care delivery models positions him well to support AAST’s new strategic plan and continue advancing the profession of sleep technology at a national level.
As president, Massey will help lead AAST in its efforts to support sleep technologists through education for today‘s and emerging roles, a community that supports you at every stage, and advocacy that elevates and protects the profession. His appointment reflects the organization’s continued commitment to strong leadership and a forward-looking vision for the future of sleep care.
